Wish Stories

Adam with his grandfather.

Adam lives with his family in Blue Springs, NE. His Grandfather farms there. Adam loves to help around the farm, so his wish was to get a John Deere Gator -- a utility vehicle to be able to get around the farm easily.

Adam's Mom and Dad packed Adam and his sisters -- Naomi, Dana and Hanna -- into the car for a trip to Lincoln. They also brought several other family members -- 15 in total – to be in on the surprise. Adam and all the other kids thought they were going to Lincoln for a day of shopping…and he wasn’t thrilled about that.

Once they arrived in Lincoln, however, drove to Lincoln Turf & Tractor, where a Gator with Adam's name on it was waiting...literally. His name was on the license plate. In addition to the Gator, Brad Burkey, the owner and operator of Lincoln Turf & Tractor, gave Adam a John Deere cap, cup, pen and a video on farm machinery. He is now officially a John Deere guy, and his favorite color is green.

When Adam saw the Gator for the first time, he said what all young boys do when they are impressed. "Wow!" For Adam, that said it all. Adam was excited, happy and delighted with his wish. He immediately sat in the driver's seat and took it for a spin, and made sure he took his Grandpa. Who knows what those two farmers discussed as they proudly gatored through the parking lot?

But, the day wasn't over. The family rode in a Humvee Limousine to Valentino's for a complimentary lunch. It was a great end to a spectacular day.

Now, Adam and his Gator are back on the farm. Who says the best farm animals are cows or horses? Adam happens to know that the best animals are Gators!
